Message from the Careers Adviser:

Hello Year 11 Students,

For those of you considering apprenticeships as a first choice or as a possible back up to full time education courses, most apprenticeship vacancies are advertised on:
https://www.findapprenticeship.service.gov.uk/apprenticeships

The following link shows current apprenticeship vacancies within 20 miles distance

https://www.findapprenticeship.service.gov.uk/apprenticeships?Keywords=&Location=Lydney+(Gloucestershire)&WithinDistance=20&ApprenticeshipLevel=All&Latitude=51.72903&Longitude=-2.52987&Hash=970506341&SearchMode=Keyword&Category=&LocationType=NonNational&sortType=Distance&SearchAction=Sort&resultsPerPage=50&DisplayDescription=true&DisplayDistance=true&DisplayClosingDate=true&DisplayStartDate=true&DisplayApprenticeshipLevel=false&DisplayWage=false

Although some of the apprenticeship opportunities are currently not for summer school leavers there will be an increasing number that are as this year proceeds so it is a very good idea to look at this site regularly and apply for vacancies that are right for you.
If you require further information or help to register and apply for suitable vacancies then John Cousins, the school careers adviser can help you with this.

http://www.adviza.org.uk/who-am-i/young-person/companies-that-hire-apprentices gives you an idea of companies and organisations that offer apprenticeships every year. You may want to have a look at some of the websites, perhaps with parents/carers. Remember that some well known companies  will have closing dates for applications while you are still in Year 11.

The Careers Fair on January 26th (in the Sports Hall from 4:30-7:30) will provide an excellent opportunity to find out more about what apprenticeship roles are available with many reputable and well known employers

Thank you
